Impact of Brexit on Haulage, Freight, the Ports and Ferry Companies: Discussion
Mr. Eugene Drennan:
I am smiling because with regard to the company to which Deputy Crowe referred, I am the haulier who takes it there every morning and I am also the haulier who loaded those Antonov airplanes way back. High volume and relatively low cost goods will never go by air because it is too costly. There is a niche for high-quality and high-tech goods like pharma goods that may need to be covered. Cost dictates, as possibly does keeping the volumes up in Shannon, but there is room and the company has a very legitimate argument.
