Impact of Brexit on Haulage, Freight, the Ports and Ferry Companies: Discussion
Mr. Eugene Drennan:
On the question of the vaccines, there is capacity in Ireland to take in the vaccines. The equipment is there. There are companies that meet all the regulatory requirements and have all of the necessary equipment. As regards medicines, perhaps if an issue arises in that respect, which I do not foresee happening, the shipment could be identified as medicine. In that case all bodies involved, including the shipping companies, would have to perk up. As the gentleman from Brittany Ferries said, such shipments may have to be identified and prioritised. As of now, however, it is hoped that this will not be needed.
