Today, the committee will consider the Dáil motions on the proposed ratification by Ireland of agreements with Denmark and Estonia for target compliance purposes under Directive 2009/28/EC, the renewable energy directive. The motions were referred to the select committee by order of the Dáil on 4 December 2020.

I welcome the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Deputy Eamon Ryan, and invite him to make any opening remarks regarding the motions that he wishes to make.
