I am mindful of the debt that this country owes to what I call the Covid generation. We must bear in mind that these people are aged between 16 and 25 years but it is they who must shoulder all of this along with climate action so the last thing I want to hear about is talk of restraint and austerity.

I ask Mr. Barnes to comment generally on the fact that the entire planet is in debt. That may be what makes the current situation different from what happened on the previous occasion. How will that be handled?
