Farmers have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis in terms of their income and their ability to trade. This, coupled with the wet summer and various other issues, means that income volatility has worsened for many. This is also an issue in the context of the reduced CAP budget. Is there a long-term plan to address income volatility? The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association, ICMSA, has proposed a farm management deposit scheme. Has the Department examined that proposal?
