I thank the committee for the privilege to contribute. The most important thing, as Professor Giesecke alluded to, is social cohesion and political stability. Many people have completely underestimated how divisive the epidemic and pandemic can be, which we have seen in other countries. It is essential that decision-making is open, debated and transparent yet keeps us together as a people because if we fracture then we will not succeed.
