The HSE has done a good job in promoting the vaccine. We would encourage an escalation of this, have it done earlier and more broadly, and educate people about the nature of the vaccine and the type of vaccine it is. There is huge concern among the population, and we hear it every year, about vaccines in general. We do not subscribe to this. Our members who work as public health nurses are on the front line of providing childhood immunisation and meningococcal vaccinations. We promote vaccines. We believe the health service must give correct information and contradict, perhaps, the information out there that is not based on science.
