In the first instance, it is a matter for the public health officers to deal with the matter in terms of making assessments as to whether there is a need to do the contact tracing or for any measures to be taken in the setting. There is also a requirement for Tusla, which is the statutory regulator in the sector, to be informed of any outbreaks of notifiable infections. Services are required to inform Tusla very quickly.
