If the Bill goes through as drafted, I think it is clearly in conflict with EU law. I do not think it is controversial to say that the Legislature should not pass laws that are clearly in conflict with our obligations as a member state of the EU. The effect will be that thousands of people who have been wronged and fought to get redress and recognition will be faced with further legal uncertainty, struggles and battles to get what is rightfully theirs.

That should not happen.
