I thank the witnesses for their presentations. The biggest issue arising from the earlier session earlier was the issue of establishing a national cycling office, which would not necessarily be located in the National Transport Authority because its statutory remit extends only to Dublin city and surrounding areas. This new office should drive the agenda for change and investment and push cycling as a policy issue with all the other parties nationally and regionally. I will ask the witnesses to address that point when they respond.

On the consultation, representatives of a number of cycling campaigns appeared before the committee this morning. Ms Hanlon stated the Department is committed to meeting stakeholders. How does the Department identify stakeholders? Who will they be?
