We are moving to change the duration of the labour market needs test, for which we do not need to change legislation. Two weeks is a very short time after which an employer can come back to us and tell us that it has tried its best to recruit across the EEA and in Ireland. The regulations have been signed by the Minister and an extension to four weeks will come into effect on 1 January next year.
