One of my colleagues in the Public Gallery, who was a committed apartment owner and director of a company, said he would not advise anybody to purchase an apartment now. We need to develop confidence in higher-density living, which is also a solution to wider housing issues in Ireland. We need people to develop trust in the system and to trust the structures of the State to protect the decisions they make. That is a long-term element of this.

Being a responsible and proactive support and helping to deal with people who are currently affected goes a long way to building trust for what goes next.
