It is also about creating a framework in which we will see an increase in supply of homes. While I would not make the case that the scheme is the key reason we have seen an increase in the number of homes being built in the State, as I could not stand over that, I believe it is contributing to that. According to the figures for housing supply during the lifetime of the scheme, the number of completions has doubled from 9,896 in 2016 to 18,000 in 2018, and this trend is set to continue.
