Tracker Mortgages Report: Central Bank of Ireland
Ms GrĂ¡inne McEvoy:
We have had written correspondence, as I mentioned in response to Senator Horkan, in which we clearly articulated our expectation of the banks and non-banks in terms of their treatment of customers and compliance with the consumer protection code, and in terms of our expectation that where a loan has been sold by one entity to another, the arrangement in place carries and is not removed from an individual upon transfer. It would be subject to review. We have been very clear, in our expectations, that the documentation travels as well so that the non-bank can make a fully informed assessment of the individual borrower's circumstances. We have undertaken a number of on-site visits of those institutions this year where we assessed the books and records of those institutions and had interviews with senior individuals within those institutions. All of this forms part of our supervision of this non-aligned sector.
