Gas Networks Ireland's Vision 2050: Discussion

Mr. Denis O'Sullivan:

No, because we believe it adds costs. Our view is that the gas should be produced as close as possible to the source of the feedstocks, particularly the slurry, because there is such a high percentage of water in it. That is why we are considering developing centralised injection points.

If water is taken out of the slurry before putting it into the anaerobic digester water will have to be added.
