Cuirim fáilte roimh na finnéithe go léir. Leanfaidh mé ar aghaidh i mBéarla, so ná bíodh imní orthu. I said the witnesses are all very welcome and that I will continue in English so they should not worry, at least on that score. I appreciate the effort they have made to come before the committee. It is very important. We all need to learn, so I welcome their effort and the collaborative spirit they have shown. At the end of the day, however, this is a balancing exercise, is it not, between freedom of expression and the right to privacy and the right not to be harmed? We had a number of witnesses before us last week, including a representative of Rape Crisis Network Ireland; Professor Joe Carthy from UCD; Garda representatives; and a representative of the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. There were two common themes, or points of agreement, which I will put to all the witnesses. Do they accept there is a need for a digital safety commissioner - yes or no?
