Veterinary Council of Ireland Report: Discussion

Ms Niamh Muldoon:

In theory, if one has a premises in Drogheda, Tullyallen, Athlone or Ashbourne, the council has a whole range of regulatory powers on which it can act. Arguably, it might send in an authorised officer to conduct an inspection of that premises or practice and the authorised officer might sample the medical records of all the various clients or look to make sure that all of the controlled drugs are validly scheduled, documented and secured. Equally, if there were particular findings, the council would take action based on those findings.
