The laboratory did not open until August 2010 and did not obtain ISO accreditation for cervical screening until December 2011. I want to know whether it was testing smears without accreditation before December 2011. The same company - MedLab - secured the bowel screening contract, as the sole provider, in May 2012. It obtained HPV accreditation in June 2012 for the Roche 4800 machine. How were private companies able to secure tenders when they did not have the accreditation standard? Is that normal?
