Has the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council done any analysis on the corporation tax changes envisaged in respect of the profits of multinational technology companies and under the OECD proposals? One could foresee an increase in our tax revenues as a result of these. One of the reasons for the increases in corporation tax revenues in recent years was that multinational companies are moving intellectual property here. Corporation tax now accounts for 18% of tax receipts. This shift may be a long-term one and may also be sustainable given the size of the foreign direct investment sector in the economy. The figure could even rise. Has the IFAC done any analysis to show the likely outcome of what is happening in Europe and the OECD?
