Travellers Towards a More Equitable Ireland Post-Recognition: Discussion
Mr. Chris McDonagh:
From the mediation side of it, we have disputes in different towns in Ireland. What gets me all the time is that local gardaí, if they do not know Travellers, and the media are constantly calling them feuds. That is throwing petrol on to the fire. A lot of them are just disputes. They could be a one-to-one neighbourly thing. As Thomas McCann has said, there should be more put on reporters in terms of what they can say. Just tell the truth and be fair - that is all we look for.
