These women were already in treatment for cervical cancer, which is why a look back was performed on their previous slides, and I cannot see any real reason there would have been an effect on the clinical outcome. The clinician who was treating them knew the results of the audit. The fact that they did not disclose that to the women should not have altered their treatment of them in the slightest.
