Telecommunications infrastructure in the past was all based on copper, which conducts electricity. There was a significant risk that it would interfere with the network and create potential risks, which could possibly go into somebody's house. The two had to be separated. With the evolution of fibre technology and overhead fibre technology, which allows it to be strung between poles and is non-conductive-----
