Committee on Budgetary Oversight
National Broadband Plan: Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform
Tommy Broughan (Dublin Bay North, Independent) | Oireachtas source
I believe in universal services. We have all had experience around the country, with friends and relatives or on holidays in different places, of running upstairs to get a signal for the phone or the iPad or to try to access broadband. We are sympathetic to the objective of 100% coverage. I questioned some of the Minister's colleagues, such as the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Deputy Bruton, on the matter. Does the Minister envisage fibre optic cable going to every household?
