My understanding is that the trigger for audit was having cancer. Then we were missing a chunk of people on the national cancer registry but we are sorting that out. On the one hand, we have people talking about populism and scaremongering and then contributing to it. I feel strongly about dealing with this situation in order that, ultimately, lives are saved and outcomes are better for women and their families.

The audit was flawed in its essence in that, from my recollection from the committee, nobody ever considered what to do with the audit results. The audit process identified the 221 women who then received a package based on non-open disclosure. However, falling within the acceptable parameters of testing the 70% to 80%, have we no evidence to date that any lab was underperforming?
