In the light of the sizeable amount of money granted to Sport Ireland every year by the Government on behalf of the taxpayer and the level of funding provided for sports organisations, we would have no difficulty with having annual audits. Audits are carried out only every two or three years owing to a lack of available resources. One of the issues is we want to expend as much of the resources on sport as possible.
