Recruitment and Retention of Social Workers: Discussion

Mr. Andrew Murphy:

There is a natural risk in any case where a social worker has not been allocated. If there has been a break, for example, when a foster worker has not had a social worker for some time and is then allocated one, it can take time for a relationship to build. Decisions may have been made during the period without a social worker. A new social worker might have to backtrack and fix some of those decisions.
