Central Bank of Ireland: Discussion
Michael McGrath (Cork South Central, Fianna Fail) | Oireachtas source
Our guests should have taken the break when the Chair offered it earlier. I admire their endurance.
I have two points, the first being on the Brexit-related inflow into financial services. Professor Lane has been very consistent in stating that he does not want brass-plate operations and that when businesses move their headquarters or prudential regulation to Ireland, he wants substantive operations to be moved.
When it comes to CEO and chief financial officer level, functions such as risk and compliance, public policy functions, Government relations and so forth, is Professor Lane satisfied that where a headquarters or prudential regulation moves, those tiers are coming as well?
