Regarding the divorce referendum, my view is that the current system is leading to delays. We have a two-tier system at present whereby one can apply for judicial separation and then one applies for divorce. This is doing the same thing twice, so there are delays and also cost involved. I would certainly welcome the referendum. I think it will bring about huge improvements in family law if it is remitted to legislation in order that the period is reduced to one or two years. It will be hugely beneficial.
