Role of Irish Coast Guard: Discussion

Mr. Eugene Clonan:

If there is a large incident where we need to put people on board a ship or on the coast, we will use CHC to bring them along. CHC does search and rescue for us as well as surveillance in the event of pollution incidents. CHC staff train with the Coast Guard units and the RNLI to keep up their competencies and the competencies of the RNLI and our teams. They are all embedded within the search and rescue system.
