There are between 70,000 and 80,000 in the city. I checked the figures yesterday. It would be no harm to verify them. Whether it is 250,000 or 300,000, it is a huge number of people and we need real planning and real money. The local authority does not have any faith in the system. Outlying areas such as Ballinasloe, which I represent, have felt completely left out for years. There are 79,000 people in the city.
