That Department has to reach its own conclusions. I would argue that, where we have authenticated a person's identity to a high standard using the safe registration process, it should not be necessary for another State body to ask that person for the same information again. Our identity verification process, which serves a good public service purpose, could be used again instead of requesting similar information from the same customer. My understanding is that the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport was concerned about whether it would have to make changes to its legislative framework to use our service.
