Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health
Lyme Disease: Discussion
9:00 am
Dr. Gerard Sheehan:
It depends on the circumstances, on whether they are being treated as an inpatient or an outpatient and whether they have a serious complication. Most patients are treated as outpatients so the cost is very small. It is the cost of the prescription and the antibiotic in the public service. For those practising entirely in the public service, there are no private fees or anything like that. It is different if somebody approaches someone in their private rooms.
