Mr. Ciarán Breen:

I think there should be context. German authorities decided that, for people, they would compensate under German law. They would provide it across the board, not just in Ireland but across jurisdictions. They called a drop dead date and would not be shifted from that. I understand that German authorities also wrote to plaintiffs' solicitors. I could be corrected on that but I am pretty sure that is the case.
