Mr. John McCarthy:

In the last while we have seen an element of consolidation and mergers of bodies. It has contributed to the fact that the vast bulk of the stock is concentrated in a small number of them. As the statutory regulatory system is put into place in due course, it is possible that we will see an increase in the process of mergers and consolidation. However, some of the approved housing bodies have a particular niche or focus. They might be focused on older people, homeless persons or people with a disability. There will always be these niche players in the system because they provide not only housing but often for a care element also, given the supports required.
