Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health
Scoping Inquiry into the CervicalCheck Screening Programme: Discussion
9:00 am
Dr. Gabriel Scally:
I find that unsatisfactory. They managed it with regard to breast cancer.
If they thought there was a problem, all they had to do was ask for a transfer to take place. As the committee has seen from the report, I was very concerned that, apart from a one-year contract document that we are not even sure was signed by both sides, there were no agreements between the HSE, CervicalCheck and the National Cancer Registry. There were no written agreements in place to cover this transfer of information, which was really unsatisfactory and bad practice.
