National Asset Management Agency: Financial Statements 2016 and 2017
Comptroller and Auditor General Special Report No. 102: National Asset Management Agency Second Progress Report

9:00 am

Mr. Brendan McDonagh:

There is land right beside infrastructure, which we know from talking to local authorities is in their plans to be zoned for residential use because all the roads are beside it and there are facilities such as train stations so it makes absolute sense.

Now we are being told that under these regional strategies it probably will not be zoned in the first place, or if part of it is zoned it is likely to be unzoned. NAMA is not the only landowner affected by that. Other landowners who are not in NAMA are affected by it also. This is part of the strategy in Ireland 2040, but we are not the only people affected. We cannot make a special plea as it affects other people also. There will always be consequences arising from these policies.
