The point I am making is that what we are doing now is not working. Sláintecare proposes an alternative model and, in some instances, a radical one. There is universality within Sláintecare, such that people will be treated on the basis of need rather than ability to pay. We have a system which allows people to be treated on their ability to pay rather than based on need. The aim of Sláintecare is to change this system.
