Insurance Costs for Community Groups: Discussion
10:00 am
Mr. Alex Sinclair:
Claims are made in all of those circumstances. These things are not predictable in any real sense. We have a Road Traffic Act insurance policy which covers all of our members because we want to make sure everybody has the correct insurance. Without naming names or venues, we recently received a claim relating to a collision in the centre of a small town between a rally car and a road vehicle driven by a member of the public. A car pulled out in front of our member. The indicator on the car in question was not working. To cut a long story short, the damage to the third party vehicle was estimated at €700 and that was the claim. Now, from nowhere, we have received a claim for personal injuries to a mother and three children.
