Insurance Costs for Community Groups: Discussion

10:00 am

Mr. Colm Croffy:

From our perspective, it is not just the premium issue. It is also the restrictions and limitations that the insurance providers are now asking our groups to undertake. A family festival, an Irish festival or a cultural celebration would traditionally have involved some form of participatory action, perhaps on a lake shore or a pier, and might have involved pyrotechnics, children or animals. All of these activities are now being excluded or limited by the insurance companies.
