Cancer Screening Programmes: Discussion

Open disclosure is different across an entire screening programme and we can see the lessons learned from CervicalCheck in terms of original planning and execution with respect to rolling out open disclosure in the programme. Those lessons clearly need to be applied to the three other programmes, including BowelScreen and diabetic retinopathy.

The English experience - the process has still not been activated in other parts of the UK - with duty of candour legislation began with its introduction in 2014. It took three years to start a policy of rolling that up with all the necessary elements that needed to be put into place-----
