Let us say that there was a gynaecological complaint and a child born with cerebral palsy goes to court and wins without an admission of liability. Are the relevant physicians associated with that case subject to any ongoing process of retraining or monitoring by a superior or peer? The State Claims Agency does not recommend it, which seems to be a failure on the risk management side in terms of helping the HSE along, future patient safety and good practice. Will the executive shed some light on this?
