On foot of that she had a meeting with clinicians and assured me on 8 September that she had listened to their concerns, apologised for the communication difficulties and was going to change things. I am a clinician and, working in my clinical world, when a senior clinician, whether it is a general practitioner or a consultant, tells me that they are going to do something, I presume they will follow through on that. I do not believe I have to assure myself that they will go ahead and do what they actually said they were going to do. I was in here not just as senior clinician but as somebody who is medical director of the service.
