I support and welcome that change in the definition. It was raised at length in the Seanad, and I commend the Minister and the Department for taking it on board. My colleague, Senator Rose Conway-Walsh, raised it on a number of occasions during the debate, and I want to acknowledge that. Returning to a point I made at Second Stage, I acknowledge that the engagement of numerous organisations, in particular SAFE Ireland, Women's Aid Ireland and the National Women's Council of Ireland, has been very successful in improving this Bill considerably and I commend them for that. This is a further example of the efforts of those organisations. It is an appropriate change to the definition, one that is required and improves protections.
