If one looks at that equality budgeting objective for education in isolation, it does look quite stark but it sits in the Revised Estimates volume on the same page as the entire apprenticeship programme. The list giving the number of apprentices registered on programmes is further up that page. For 2017, it was 4,114 which puts the figure of less than 300 women apprentices in context. It provides context where it sits in the Revised Estimates, including the level spending in the area and other indicators. I take the point that it looks minimalist when extracted from the Estimates.
