Under the terms of our original funding agreement with the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and our philanthropic funders, we provided free access to the data for every public body that asked for it in the first three years. That was to test the market and the potential for people to see value in the data. The terms of our second round of funding have changed and, therefore, for the next three years - beginning on 1 January this year - our funding is subject to different terms. We are contractually committed to providing a body of resources and services to the public to make information about the entire non-profit sector transparent.
