As agreed at our previous meeting, we will deal with correspondence received before the main business of the meeting. No. 2018/205 is an email from Ms Cáit Hayes forwarding a briefing document regarding COM (2017) 647, on which the Houses of the Oireachtas submitted a reasoned opinion. It is proposed to note this correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

No. 2018/206 is a letter from Mr. Ray Hernon of Bus Éireann responding to queries raised at our meeting of 17 January last. It is proposed to note this correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

No. 2018/207 is an email dated 2 February 2018 from Dr. Mike McKillen of cyclist.iein support of an amendment to introduce a minimum passing distance in the Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill 2017. The joint committee will take Committee Stage of the Bill on 28 February and members will be able to raise issues or table amendments at that point. It is proposed to note this correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

No. 2018/208 is an email from Mr. Aidan Flynn of the Freight Transport Association of Ireland outlining a number of key issues the organisation would like to present to the joint committee. It is proposed to convene a meeting on the matter when the committee's schedule permits. Is that agreed? Agreed.

No. 2018/209 is an email dated 5 February 2018 regarding the International Transport Forum's summit on transport safety, which will take place in Germany from 23 to 25 May 2018. It is proposed to note this correspondence. Is that agreed? Agreed.

No. 2018/210 is a letter from the clerk of the Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands on Statutory Instrument 318 of 1992 relating to vehicle registration plates. The correspondence has been submitted for information and the joint committee is awaiting a response from the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Deputy Ross, which will be circulated in due course. Is that agreed? Agreed.

No. 2018/212 is a letter from the clerk to the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport seeking a briefing on the rail review report. The briefing has been received and has been circulated to members.
