Ms Hilary Murphy-Fagan:

Some of the cost saving is different from effectiveness. Looking at the cost saving side of the business case, those costs primarily arise from either savings on technology and the IT side, bearing in mind that there are 31 financial management and reporting systems across all the bodies that we will provide finance shared services to on one single platform. All those systems are currently being maintained. When finance shared services goes live, the savings will come partly from the savings on the IT and technology side and also by savings in the numbers of staff required to carry out the finance administration. Those staff will be reabsorbed within their own Departments to do different work and other work.
