There are two parts to the question. First, we have a set of PPPs that are either now complete or under way and I am not in a position to publish details on them because of the way they are conceived but we always look at the start of a project to see whether the figures stack up and then we evaluate at the end of a project whether it was the appropriate way to do it. That has informed the view I gave to Deputy Lahart that I believe in many cases, PPPs can be a good way of delivering projects, in particular if there is an income stream delivered by them which can be fed into the business model for the project. However, I look at all those things on a case-by-case basis.

As for what I said in response to the Deputy's parliamentary question last week, I am of the view that for future PPPs, we can publish and make available more information than we do at the moment. I believe we can still meet the requirements of commercial sensitivity while giving the Oireachtas and people who focus on those things more information than is currently available to them. If and when we engage in future PPPs that is something I aim to do.
