Tracker Mortgages: Allied Irish Banks
4:00 pm
Mr. Bernard Byrne:
No. I answered a question which was asked at the time about my perspective on where the market was and where AIB was in the market. That is what I answered. I read the detail of the comments that were made and I am not sure that I would have the same interpretation, but fundamentally I was expressing a view about where the bank is and where the markets are. I have not expressed any different views since then. I still think the markets are good. We can see that. It is not a unique insight on the position the markets are currently in. I cannot make any comment about the trading position of the bank right now other than to refer back to our December statement which said that we expect to deliver close in line with market expectations. That is as much as I can tell the Deputy about any trading issues until we release our results. I have not had a conversation with the Minister.
