With respect to the witness, that is like saying when a bomb goes off that we found a bomb. Professor Lane is saying that they were not found and that they were there. However, they would never have come to light unless they were found. The banks would have driven on and said that this was not going on. It was extremely profitable for them to ignore it. The banks were found out. Is it fair to say that if this issue had not been found out, the banks would have ignored and hidden this issue?
